The history of the Group dates back to 1992, when Zdeněk Bábíček Jr. founded the PETRA company. Business activities were started in Germany and later also in the Czech Republic. Trade in timber was gradually added to the forestry services provided, and several contracts were finalised for the Forests of the Czech Republic. Further development of the Group was boosted by the increased demand for logging works due to the damage of forest stands by Cyclone Kyrill. Gradually, we established new companies, expanded our business activities, invested in machinery, and increased the turnover.
In 2019, the Group logged 1.5 million cubic metres of raw timber and realised planting works worth CZK 330 million.
In 2020, the Group logged 2 069 022.11 cubic metres of timber and planted 11 210 528 new trees.
